Larry Minton
Music Teacher, Recording Engineer, Composer/Publisher,
Emmy Award Winner
    
From 1998 to 2003, Larry worked for NBC Studios in New York. He was the post audio engineer for Dateline NBC. He has done post audio for Nightly News with Tom Browkaw and Late Night with Conan O’Brian as well as promos for the Today Show. He has done live audio transmission for both the Summer and Winter Olympics and for the 2000 and 2001 seasons of Saturday Night Live. He has lent his talents to numerous NBC television events, including Tom Brokaws “Greatest Generation” and Katie Courick’s Harry Potter Special. In 2002 Larry won an Emmy Award for his work during the week of 9/11. As a composer/publisher and member of ASCAP, his music has been heard on commercials and television shows, including Dateline NBC and Tom Brokaw specials. Larry Minton has been a professional musician for 35 years. He has performed and recorded with many professional musicians, including Elliot Easton of THE CARS and Bruce Kapler of the CBS Orchestra. His association with the Loudoun County School system has helped to make him one of the most “in demand” drum and percussion teachers in Northern Virginia today.

John Ford
Music Teacher, Master of Music
 

John Ford is a native of Portsmouth, VA.  He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Music at Frederick College.  After teaching several years in the Suffolk, VA school system, he attended James Madison University as a Graduate Assistant while working on his Degree of Master of Music Education.  He has taught on the High School level for fifteen years in Suffolk, Williamsburg, VA and Elkin, NC.  For twenty-three years he was been a middle school band director in Loudoun County, VA.  Being a strong advocate of jazz, Mr. Ford started the first middle school jazz band in Loudoun County at Seneca Ridge M. S. where he was also named as “Teacher of the Year”.  He is presently retired from classroom teaching after 38 years, though he remains active in private instruction.

Kurt Bell
Music Teacher, Guitarist, Songwriter
 
A true student of the guitar, Kurt hails from Wheeling West Virginia. Playing since his early teens, Kurts influences run the musical gamut, from rock to jazz to classical. Kurt has attended sessions with some of the biggest names in the guitar world including Zakk Wylde, Vinnie Moore, Ritchie Kotzen, Steve Lynch and Andy Timmons. Attending class's with Chick Corea guitar legend Frank Gamble, has been is a high point on Kurts musical resume. Kurt has performed with a number of local groups including Stric-9 and Ego Trip. Kurt has been teaching privately for eleven years. For the last five years he has been teaching at the National Guitar Summer Workshops Day Jams Program.

Carrie Bell
Music Teacher, Pianist, Music Performance 
 

From the famed Orchestra Hall in Chicago to the churches of Paris, France; Ms. Bell has studied, performed and taught around the world. Trained in classical music (French horn and piano), she holds a degree in Music Performance from the DePaul School of Music in Chicago, IL. Past instructors include Dr. Susan Osborne (Northwestern University and Interlochen Center for the Arts), Melody Lord (Chicago Symphony Orchestra) and Jonathan Boen (Chicago Lyric Opera). Ms. Bell has been teaching piano for over 10 years and has a thorough knowledge of both the “American” and “European” methods of music instruction and performance. Although she is a “classically” trained pianist, Ms. Bell enjoys all types of music and encourages her students to play what they enjoy!

Lauren Morra

Lauren Colleen Morra is a classically trained lyric soprano and teaches voice, and piano, to students across northern Virginia. She can be seen next month in La Boheme, with the Loudon County Lyric Opera.
 
Beginning professional voice training at the age of 11, Miss Morra has been singing in church and at school her entire life. Miss Morra studied at the Catholic University of America for a Masters of Music in Vocal Pedagogy with soprano Regina McConnell. She has a Bachelor's of Music in operatic performance from Shenandoah Conservatory where she studied with Byron Jones. She also participated in the Interlochen Arts Camp a well known performing arts camp.

Andrea Beisel
Music Teacher, Vocalist, Pianist, Bachelor of Music Shenandoah Conservatory
 

Hailing from Ocean City NJ, Andrea Beisel recently moved to Ashburn VA with her husband to teach music and theatre. Performing since the age of eight, Andrea has been in over forty productions including her first opera at age ten, Amahl and the Night Visitors. At the age of fourteen “Annie” was the youngest person to ever win the New Jersey State Opera Festival competing at the high school level. Annie graduated from Shenandoah University receiving a Bachelors in Music degree in 2001, and then attended the University of Maryland where she completed her Masters Degree in vocal performance. Returning to New Jersey in 2003, Annie began performing on a professional level with the Riddlesbrood Theatre Company, appearing as a leading role in their yearly production. In 2005 Annie enrolled at Rowan University where she finished her coursework for a Bachelors in Music Education degree, completing courses in tuba, clarinet, viola, trombone, flute, and drums. Andrea has devoted her life to the study of all types of music and has shown her diversity throughout her performing career by taking on roles ranging from Nellie, in South Pacific, to Musetta in La Boheme. Annie’s passions have always been with the performing arts and she is extremely excited to pass her knowledge of singing and acting onto those who will carry the torch and become the stars of tomorrow.
